Blessing of the Renovated Church – A Celebration of Faith and Community
On August 18, 2023, the Salesian community gathered to celebrate the blessing of the newly renovated church, led by Rev. Fr. L. Don Bosco, the INM Provincial. This sacred occasion marked a profound tribute to God and the Blessed Mother, while also commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the Salesians' presence in Bagalur. The event was a beautiful testament to faith, unity, and dedication, as the renovated church stood as a symbol of the collective effort of the parish community.
The artistic transformation of the sanctuary and altar was a highlight of the day, with the space now radiating spiritual beauty and reverence. In addition, the installation of the Stations of the Cross, along with images of St. Joseph, Mary Help of Christians, and portraits of Don Bosco, further enriched the atmosphere of devotion and faith. The celebration began with a momentous flag blessing and the hoisting of the flag on the new flag mast, marking the beginning of this joyful event. The presence of many Salesians who had worked in the past to nurture the faith in Bagalur added to the significance of the occasion.
The renovation work, meticulously coordinated by Fr. James Bernard and the Salesian community, was a labor of love and dedication. The contributions of the parish council members, parishioners, and many generous individuals who supported the cause were deeply appreciated. The event was not only a grand occasion but a joyful one, as the entire community came together to celebrate the progress and growth of the church. The newly renovated church stands as a testament to the power of collective effort and the deep faith that binds the community together. We thank all who have been a part of this beautiful journey of renovation, and may this church continue to be a place of worship, peace, and spiritual growth for many years to come.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who contributed to this noble cause. May God's blessings continue to shine upon the community of Bagalur.
